Inspirere Paints Art on the Walk

Inspirere’s founder and creative, Sahar Sharif, displayed some artwork for the first time on Dubai’s art scene last weekend.

The exhibition showcased a number of locally and regionally based artists who will be part of the Art on the Walk initiative from November 2015 to March 2016 as an attempt to make Dubai more culturally happening.

Our first exhibition for the season was from November 19th-21st which turned out to be way better than expected..

The artwork which seemed to have attracted people most was my funny puns and observations on Dubai’s ethnic blends and dubenglish signs..a theme which I made just for laughs but it seems as if this is a memory which can be created and is a part of what many in Dubai experience and remember with fondness. The Melting pot and how we learnt to cope.

Check out the photos and let us know what you think.

A special thanks to all the friends who visited and publicized, to Colin Bullard for curating and tirelessly supporting me in all the errands to make this possible, to my mom, Raziya, for getting my hooks at the last minute, to Ahmed Rukni and Aloka for helping me sell the pieces.

And to Atif, who represented DNV GL by trying his hand out at the workshop.

You are all amazing- no man is an island, without you all this wouldn’t have been possible, thank you!

Note- pictures 5,6 and the fridge magnets are fellow artists art pieces that I was truly inspired by and hope to incorporate their techniques out 😊
